Installation & Wiring

Turn off power to HVAC system at circuit breaker before installation.

  1. Remove old thermostat: Label existing wires before disconnecting.
  2. Mount new baseplate: Level and secure to wall using provided screws.
  3. Connect wires: Match labeled terminals (R, C, W, Y, G, etc.) to corresponding wires.
  4. Attach thermostat: Snap onto baseplate until it clicks into place.
  5. Install batteries: Insert 2 AA batteries for backup power.
  6. Restore power: Turn circuit breaker back on.

WARNING! Electrical shock hazard. Ensure power is OFF before handling wires. If unsure, consult a qualified HVAC technician.

First-Time Setup

After installation and power restore, configure initial settings.

  1. Set mode: Press MODE to select HEAT, COOL, AUTO, or OFF.
  2. Set temperature: Use UP/DOWN arrows to adjust setpoint.
  3. Set fan: Press FAN to select AUTO or ON continuous operation.
  4. Set time and day: Hold SET button and use arrows to adjust.
  5. Program schedule: Press PROGRAM to enter scheduling mode (see Section 6).
  6. Configure preferences: Access installer settings by holding SET and MODE for 3 seconds.

NOTE: Default temperature range is 40°F to 99°F (4°C to 37°C).

Display Icons: Flame (Heat), Snowflake (Cool), Fan (Blower), Clock (Schedule Active), Lock (Keypad Lock), Battery (Low Battery), Wrench (Filter Alert).

Basic Operation: Press MODE to cycle through OFF, HEAT, COOL, AUTO. Press FAN to toggle between AUTO and ON. Use UP/DOWN arrows to adjust temperature setpoint. Press HOLD to temporarily override programmed schedule. Press PROGRAM to view or edit schedule.

Programming Schedule

Create a 7-day schedule with up to 4 periods per day (Wake, Leave, Return, Sleep).

  1. Press PROGRAM button to enter programming mode.
  2. Use arrows to select day (MON, TUE, WED, THU, FRI, SAT, SUN, or ALL).
  3. Select time period (Period 1, 2, 3, or 4).
  4. Set start time using UP/DOWN arrows.
  5. Set temperature for that period.
  6. Repeat for each period and day.
  7. Press PROGRAM to save and exit.

Tip: Copy schedule from one day to another by selecting the target day and pressing HOLD for 3 seconds.

Operating Modes

HEAT Mode: Controls furnace or heat pump in heating operation. System runs when room temperature falls below setpoint.

COOL Mode: Controls air conditioner or heat pump in cooling operation. System runs when room temperature rises above setpoint.

AUTO Mode: Automatic changeover. Thermostat automatically selects HEAT or COOL based on setpoint and room temperature.

OFF Mode: HVAC system is off. Fan can still be operated manually.

HOLD Function: Press HOLD to maintain current setpoint indefinitely, overriding schedule. Press HOLD again to resume program.

Advanced Settings

Access installer settings by holding SET and MODE buttons for 3 seconds. Use arrows to navigate.

CAUTION! Installer settings affect system performance. Record original settings before changing.

Care & Maintenance

Clean thermostat with soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquids or cleaners.

  1. Replace batteries: When low battery icon appears, replace both AA batteries.
  2. Reset filter timer: After replacing air filter, hold FAN button for 5 seconds to reset reminder.
  3. Check wiring: Ensure connections are tight during seasonal inspections.

CAUTION! Turn off power before performing any maintenance on thermostat or HVAC system.
