Installation

Turn off power to HVAC system at circuit breaker before installation.

  1. Remove old thermostat: Label wires, disconnect from terminals.
  2. Mount new baseplate: Level and secure to wall using provided screws.
  3. Connect wires: Match labeled wires to corresponding terminals (R, W, Y, G, C, etc.).
  4. Attach thermostat: Snap onto baseplate until it clicks into place.
  5. Install batteries: Insert two AA batteries into compartment.
  6. Restore power: Turn circuit breaker back on.

First-Time Setup

After installation, configure initial settings.

  1. Set time and day: Press SET CLOCK button, use arrows to adjust.
  2. Select temperature format: In SETUP menu, choose Fahrenheit or Celsius.
  3. Configure system type: Choose conventional or heat pump in SETUP.
  4. Set filter reminder interval: Default 90 days; adjust in MAINTENANCE menu.

Connecting to HVAC System

Terminals: R (24V power), W (Heat), Y (Cool), G (Fan), C (Common), O/B (Heat pump reversing valve), Aux/E (Aux heat).

  1. Turn off HVAC power at circuit breaker.
  2. Match thermostat wires to terminals (refer to old thermostat labels).
  3. For heat pump systems: Connect O/B wire if applicable.
  4. For systems with common wire: Connect to C terminal for continuous power.

Tip: Take a photo of old thermostat wiring before disconnecting.

Programming Schedule

Create energy-saving schedule for weekdays and weekends.

  1. Press MENU, select PROGRAM.
  2. Select day (MON-FRI, SAT, SUN, or ALL).
  3. Set first period (WAKE): Time and temperature.
  4. Set second period (LEAVE): Time and temperature.
  5. Set third period (RETURN): Time and temperature.
  6. Set fourth period (SLEEP): Time and temperature.
  7. Repeat for other days as needed.
  8. Press DONE to save.

Energy Tip: Set temperatures 7-10°F lower when away in winter (higher in summer) to save energy.
