Installation

Turn off power to HVAC system at circuit breaker before installation.

  1. Remove old thermostat: Label wires, disconnect from terminals.
  2. Mount new backplate: Level and secure to wall using provided screws.
  3. Connect wires: Insert labeled wires into corresponding terminals (R, W, Y, G, C, etc.).
  4. Attach thermostat: Align and snap onto backplate.
  5. Restore power and install batteries.

WARNING! Electrical shock hazard. Ensure power is OFF before handling wires. If unsure, consult a qualified HVAC technician.

First-Time Setup

After installation and power restoration, configure initial settings.

  1. Set time and day: Use TIME and DAY buttons.
  2. Select temperature format: Choose Fahrenheit or Celsius in settings.
  3. Configure system type: Set for conventional or heat pump systems.
  4. Set temperature limits: Define minimum cooling and maximum heating temperatures.
  5. Program schedule: Follow programming steps for weekday/weekend periods.

CAUTION! Incorrect wiring or settings can damage HVAC equipment. Verify system compatibility before installation.

Specifications

Controls and Settings

Access menus via MODE, FAN, and PROGRAM buttons. Front Panel: LCD display, Up/Down temperature buttons, HOLD button.

Button Functions: MODE (Heat/Cool/Auto/Off), FAN (Auto/On), PROGRAM (enter schedule programming), TIME/DAY (set clock), HOLD (temporary override).

Settings Menu: Access by holding PROGRAM button. Options include temperature format (F/C), filter change reminder interval, compressor protection delay, temperature limits, and system reset.

Wiring Configuration

Standard terminal designations: R (24V power), W (Heat), Y (Cooling), G (Fan), C (Common), O/B (Heat pump reversing valve).

  1. Turn off HVAC system power at breaker.
  2. Match wire colors to terminals (refer to old thermostat labels or system manual).
  3. For heat pump systems: Connect O/B wire per system requirements (O for cooling, B for heating).
  4. Ensure wires are securely inserted and no stray strands cause shorts.

Tip: Take a photo of old thermostat wiring before disconnecting for reference.

Programming Schedule

Create energy-saving schedules for weekdays and weekends.

  1. Press PROGRAM button to enter programming mode.
  2. Select day group: Weekday (Mon-Fri) or Weekend (Sat-Sun).
  3. Set first time period: Use TIME button to set start time, then set temperature with Up/Down buttons.
  4. Advance to next period: Press PROGRAM to move to next time period (up to 4 per day).
  5. Repeat for other day groups.
  6. Exit programming: Press MODE or wait for timeout.

WARNING! Do not set extreme temperature differentials (more than 2-3°F per period) to avoid system strain.

System Operation

In AUTO mode, thermostat automatically selects heating or cooling based on room temperature vs. setpoints. FAN AUTO runs fan only when system is active; FAN ON runs continuously. HOLD button overrides schedule temporarily; press again to resume program. Filter reminder flashes when interval is reached; press and hold FAN for 3 seconds to reset.

Care & Maintenance

Clean display with soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquids or abrasives. Replace batteries annually or when low battery icon appears. Check wiring connections periodically for corrosion or looseness.

CAUTION! Never spray cleaning agents directly on thermostat. Ensure power is off before inspecting wiring.
